Yesterday evening our Prime Minister Boris Johnson address the United Kingdom with his latest update on the Covid-19 outbreak. In his speech, Mr Johnson deployed a number of new restrictions to help reduce the spread of Coronavirus. These restrictions include a further reduction of non-essential travel, a limitation on time spent outside, and the closing of non-essential shops.

How do these new restrictions affect our business and your ability to shop with us?

As an online retailer with no high-street presence of our own, the government have deemed it still safe for us to operate, albeit under strict social distancing conditions. In their latest document, they say: “Online retail is still open and encouraged and postal and delivery service will run as normal.”

For as long as the government continues to safely allow online retailers to operate, alongside the safe support of delivery services, we will be able to facilitate your orders via our website.

Of course, we have also taken all of the necessary precautions to keep our staff safe. Every member of staff that is able to work from home is now doing so. The only members of staff that are still working from Bluebeards HQ are those that are unable to fulfil their roles from home, such as warehouse operatives. These individuals are working in isolated conditions, following strict social distancing and hygiene instructions.

HOW HAS COVID-19 AFFECTED OUR BUSINESS?

Every element of our business is currently still operational – from our dedicated sales and customer service teams to our hard working warehouse crew. Of course, we have taken all of the necessary precautions to ensure that our team is safe throughout this time. Many of them are now working from home. And those that aren’t able to work from home are working under strict social distancing rules, while washing their hands often and maintaining a clean working environment.
